Welcome to the BACH! We are very excited that you have joined the community and the BACH family. We look forward to welcoming you to Shul and to our exciting social programs.

Founded in 1946, Bachurei Chemed – BACH Jewish Center is one of Long Island’s most prestigious and oldest synagogues. Our community offers an affordable out-of-town feel but within close proximity to Jewish amenities including local schools, an Eruv, Mikvah and a plethora of kosher establishments.

Whether you are new to Long Beach, or just new to the BACH, transitioning into a new community may bring up some of these questions:

  • What is the schedule for daily or Shabbos minyanim?
  • What youth programs does the Shul offer?
  • How can I kasher my kitchen appliances?
  • Which local establishments have a reliable hashgacha?
  • Where do people send their children to school?
  • Where can we meet other young families?

We are here to help! Our Rabbis, lay leadership, and office staff are here to answer your questions and connect you with others in the community who are looking forward to welcoming you. Call our office and tell us how we can be of assistance. There are families, like your own, who have gone through the same processes you are currently experiencing.  They would like to meet you, invite you for a Shabbos meal, and help you the way others have helped them.

We are looking forward to greeting you in the BACH, and together, creating a warm community.

“Long Beach is an in-town community with an out-of-town feel, and with a particular child-centric approach. People are caring and warm, the pace of life is a little slower, the air and sun are pristine, and all of our children have a place to shine in shul. With the 5 Towns only a short drive and the beautiful boardwalk and beach only a short walk, we often feel like we are on vacation without going anywhere.”

“We have just moved to the community and feel like we just moved to paradise. The beach front is like an oasis from the hustle bustle of the city and we’re really enjoying the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everyone is very friendly and always looking to help out in any way they can. We love how many program options there are available for our children at the BACH and how so many Jewish schools and stores are just a short drive away.”
